A couple of years ago I started a ministry page on Facebook titled, Inspiration, Encouragement Through Words in Music in hopes of encouraging others as well as myself.
One day I read an article online about Angel Gowns by Michelle. Michelle Matthews sews infant memorial gowns re-purposed from wedding dresses donated to her.

Parents whose newborns die in hospital intensive care units face incredible sadness. Michelle Matthews says she knows it’s a small act, but she tries to help their pain by sewing and providing free baby gowns for the memorials."

I was touched by this wonderful act of kindness and contacted her to find out how I too could be of service to families in this situation in my area. Michelle is in Seattle and I am in Texas, she receives request to donate from all over and stated that if someone contacted her in my area wanting to donate a wedding gown she would have them mail to me.
DONATIONS: I am not a 501c. Donations of gift cards are to purchase materials needed fo sewing and crocheting.

I certainly would love to receive wedding gown or wedding party attire donations including those of colors other than white. I utilize my time in giving and being of service to others by being a chapter leader for Crochet For Cancer and sewing the angel gowns.
I want to make a difference in this world and I am happy to offer my time in providing a support for those going through the loss of a child or fighting a battle with cancer and most recently donating crochet hats and scarves to the military through the Scarves for Troops Program.
The making of the angel gowns and crocheting are things that I do on a volunteer basis and all items I use in this process I purchase myself. I do accept gift cards from Michael’s, JoAnn’s, Hobby Lobby, GIFTSINTL or you can purchase the items (any sewing notions, such as sewing needles, satin ribbon, thread, pinking shears, etc) online and ship directly to me .
Please note though I am not a 501c program just an individual wanting to make a difference. Each wedding dresses is posted in a individual album and all gowns made from it are posted there as well.
DRESS DONATION:
If the dress has a petticoat under neat please remove before mailing because I do not utilize that portion of the dress and only adds extra weight when mailing.
