Being of service to others
I have struggled with health issues for years but have never allowed that to deter me from being of help to others.
Volunteering is something I enjoy doing but due to health issues I can no longer do a lot of things that I use to.
Although limited on physical activity that I can do using the internet became my tool to be of help and serve others.
About two years ago I started a ministry page on Facebook, Inspiration, Encouragement Through Words in Music in hopes of encouraging others as well as myself.
On one particular day I read an article online about Angel Gowns by Michelle. Michelle Matthews sews infant memorial gowns re-purposed from wedding dresses donated to her.

Parents whose newborns die in hospital intensive care units face incredible sadness. Michelle Matthews says she knows it’s a small act, but she tries to help their pain by sewing and providing free baby gowns for the memorials."

I was touched by this wonderful act of kindness and contacted her to find out how I too could be of service to families in this situation in my area. Michelle is in Seattle and I am in Texas, she receives request to donate from all over and stated that if someone contacted her in my area wanting to donate a wedding gown she would have them mail to me.
I haven't received my first gown yet, but I can not wait to get started. I am hoping to get the word out in my area in hopes of receiving donations. In the meantime I have received yarn and other donations to purchase needed supplies to get started in crocheting.
I enjoy volunteering and being of help to others but due to certain health issues I am able to do a lot of things I use to. I have arthritis in my hands but I can sew and crochet at my leisure and produce beautiful items.
DONATIONS: I am not a 501c. Donations are to purchase materials needed to continuly be able to purchase items needed for sewing and crocheting.
Some crochet items will be available for purchase through Etsy and hopefully will sell to help as well. Thank you in advance for your kindness.
